Kehena Beach the Secret Beach in Lower Puna that is not so secret anymore.

Ecstatic dance at Kalani on Sundays is followed by a trip to Kehena to cool out and drum circle vibe with our Hawaii tribe. Kehena Beach is a hidden gem located on the east side of the Big Island and is surrounded by lush greenery, towering cliffs, and crystal clear waters. It's a haven for nudists, body surfers, swimmers, and drum pounding sunbathers alike, and it's one of the best-kept secrets on the island.

    The History of Kehena Beach

Kehena Beach has a rich history that dates back to ancient times. It was once a sacred site for the Hawaiian people, and they believed that the area was inhabited by powerful spirits. In the 19th century, Kehena Beach was used as a fishing village, and it wasn't until the 1960s that it became a popular destination for tourists and our local family.

    The Beauty of Kehena Beach

What makes Kehena Beach so special is its natural beauty. The beach is nestled between two towering cliffs, which provide a stunning backdrop for sunbathers and swimmers. The water is crystal clear, and the sand is soft and white. There are also plenty of palm trees and other tropical plants that add to the beach's charm. Hiking down can get tricky and you should be able to climb down a cliff and be prepared with water etc.

    The Red Road

The Red Road is a scenic drive that runs along the east coast of the Big Island. It's known for its stunning views, lush vegetation, and historic landmarks. The road got its name from the red cinder that was used to pave it in the early 20th century. Today, it's a popular destination for visitors who want to explore the island's natural beauty. Drive slow and breathe it in, the red road is a delicious experience you will not forget.
